…that fit the Android headunit?
No problem. All universal reversing cameras will attach to an Android headunit, even the small square cheap ones.
But what makes one reversing camera better than another?
The Problems
Some of the cheap small black square reversing cameras are not even waterproof. Others need a circular hole drilled in the bodywork to mount. Some need self-tapping screws to mount the base, and short leads can be an issue. Because many are universal, they are not ideally suited to the sprinter van and are not the ideal solution when something more suitable is available.
The Solution
The Sprinter van has a high-level brake light,t and this position is also ideal for a reversing camera to get a good view. It replaces the high-level brake light with a camera and light combo unit. A very long cable supplied would benefit those very long Sprinters too. Waterproof and high quality is a must; it has to be durable and last. It has to be compatible with an Android headunit. The yellow RCA style connector is universal to the Android headunits making that connection as easy as plug and play. You will still need to connect the power, reversing light, and pink wire.
Our recommendation
This custom-fit reversing camera is our recommendation for the Sprinter because it covers all the criteria to be a reliable unit and is easy to fit into an Android headunit. It replaces the high-level brake light with an integrated camera brake light. It is also waterproof and is supplied with a long lead for an Android headunit connection at the dashboard.
