Looking for an alternative to the pre-installed carlink app?
What is carlink app?
Carlink app can be pre-installed on your Android headunit by the manufacturer to link your phone to the headunit. This could be by a USB data cable, or some links will work over wifi.
What are my alternatives?
Zlink is an alternative app with the same functions as carlink but in a different interface. You can disable carlink app in the Android settings and use Zlink instead.
I don’t like Zlink.
You don’t like Zlink and want the carlink back? Just uninstall Zlink and enable the Carlink app in the settings.
Where do I get Zlink?
A constructive member of xda forums called Thienthanty has extracted their copy of the Zlink app and packaged it into a .apk for sideloading onto your Android headunit. Check out this link to zlink.apk on xda. Mega hosted and a snip over 15Mb; you don’t need Play Store to install it.
